You are not alone . . .

I often remind myself that I live in Canada. If I fall down on the street, someone will come along, call an ambulance, take me to the hospital and give me all the care I need. That is a freedom rare in the world. Imagine walking through the neighbourhood, the parks, downtown after dark, with this certainty. I am taken care of. If I am taken care of, where else might I put my energy -- to my job? Family? Education? Relaxation? Volunteering? Forgiving?
